THE JOB
We are looking for a Market Development Manager who will play a pivotal role in equipping our sales and marketing teams with the resources and insights needed to effectively engage with our target markets. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enable MHS to maximize our impact.
Focused on our Talent product suite, you amplify our impact as we support professionals who drive employee impact whether that’s through effective talent selection or leadership development. You help us help our customers drive individual and team performance, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
On a project basis, you do research and analysis to pinpoint market size, growth potential, customer segments, buyer personas, pain points, and value propositions. You assess the competitive landscape, the industry trends, and the regulatory environment. Using this analysis and working with stakeholders from across MHS including our product and technology teams, you create solid fact-based business cases that estimate the market potential, the revenue goals, the broad range of resource and investment costs, the risks, and the return on investment to help MHS leadership make pivotal and sound investment and resource allocation decisions.
As these decisions become tangible, you make the plan to enter new markets or segments or to launch new products or services that includes the ideal customer profile, the value proposition, the pricing, and the stakeholder impact assessment. You collaborate closely with sales, marketing, product, customer service, operations, project management office and other teams to coordinate activities and create any necessary content to support our sales and customer service teams and amplify customer adoption of new assessment products, features, revisions, or platform features.
A Market Development Manager faces various challenges and benefits in their role. Some of the challenges include handling uncertainty and complexity, engaging in multiple projects and with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, overcoming market obstacles and competition, and adapting to changing customer needs and expectations. The benefits are big! And include creating value and impact for the business and our customers.
